Reply with quote | #11 | I'm starting to feel obligated to post my mixing disasters. Maybe my signature should be: creating cosmetic disasters so you don't have to!
For some reason I mixed the last bit of my Hyaluronic Acid with my Dermagen and it formed a really thick gel. Think jello. Then I added some sea kelp to try to make it more usable but it would peel right off whenever I tried to apply it. So I added Sodium PCA which made it sticky and goopy and frankly, gross. I was rubbing this goop between my fingers. I wasn't willing to give up and mix it in some canvas. I decided to rub it on my lips and faster than you can say Angelina Jolie my lips swelled. When it dries it tastes icky and makes your lips dry and tacky but it makes a great base for lipstick. It glides on really nice!
Angelina lip gunk
1/4 tube Dermagen
Enough HA to make a thick paste
Sea Kelp until it turns into a gel
Sodium PCA I used two of the little pipettes full
stir until it's thick and sticky. Rub into your lips. You can even do a couple layers and go outside of the lip line. Put on some lip stick or gloss and pout pout pout. __________________ “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye.” --Miss Piggy |

Reply with quote | #12 | Hi Kungfukitten,
Thank you for your ideas. My local Safeway also has a pharmacy. I will ask the pharmacist for the glycerin. Will Google for a health food store and New Directions.
As for the recipe, I will wait for additional comments, as well as make a second batch (to verify the measurements), before I ask Hanna what the rules are for posting in the recipe section.
btw, I like your Angelina lip gunk. Will try it for fun
Have a great weekend, Sylvia |
