Hello.

I was thinking about adding Vitamin D3 to my canvas cream, but it seems no one sells this as an active.

One can find Vitamin D3 as drops from the health food store. I was looking at the children's strength of 400 IU/drop.

I was wondering if this is okay to add to the canvas cream?

Is one drop too high for say 1/2 ounce? I make very small batches of cream at a time.

Should I not add this to the canvas cream because it is unsafe?

Thank you.

What does the label on the bottle say? How many units per capsule, what else there is in the capsule.

Hi, there, Hannah.

The product I was looking at is in drop form. I wasn't sure about using soft gels:

Here are the Supplement Facts for the drops:

Supplement Facts

Serving Size: 1 Drop

Other Ingredients: Olive oil.

I haven't decided, actually, which form yet, the drops or soft gels, after thinking about it. Maybe the soft gels would be just as good to use; just puncture and squeeze the contents into the canvas cream.

For the soft gels, here are the Supplement Facts:

Other Ingredients: Safflower oil; (soft gel) gelatin, USP water and glycerin.

Thanks for any recommendations.

Either will be fine but don't expect much, if anything.

Why did you decide to use cholecalciferol on your skin?

I was looking at another skin care line called Isomers, and they sell a product called "Sunshine Serum, Vitamin D". It looked interesting, from a Vitamin D standpoint, for the skin. It contains two types of Vitamin D: D3 and D2.

Their prices are somewhat high for me, and I don't like putting too many ingredients on my skin. Some products have just too much stuff in them for me to be comfortable putting it on my skin, since it can be reactive and sensitive, at times. I thought maybe adding some Vitamin D3 to my Canvas Cream, would have some benefits. I already add Niacinamide to the Canvas Cream and wanted to add something else that is beneficial. My skin likes the simplicity of the Canvas Cream.

Here is what is says regarding benefits, and I also listed the ingredients below.

Benefits:

Designed to help supplement your skin with age defying vitamin D3, essential sphingolipids and a powerful free radical scavenging antioxidant.

Ingredients:

Aqua/Water, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oleosomes, Boerhavia Diffusa Extract, Ceteareth-25, Glycerin, Cetyl Alcohol, BehenicAcid, Cholesterol, Ceramide EOP, Ceramide EOS, Ceramide NP, Ceramide NS, Ceramide AP, Caprooyl-Phytosphingosine, Caprooyl-Sphingosine, Astaxanthin, Cholecalciferol, Retinyl Pamitate, Ergocalciferol, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Tropolone.

Thank you, Hannah, for replying!

As usual, the claims are very much inflated, but you could simply add some of your vitamin D to our ELS serum, that will make it a much better product that theirs. It will be much better even without the vitamin D.

I have your ELS Serum, and I do like it a lot. I will mix a bit with the ELS and see.

Thanks again for your replies. Have a great Sunday!
