Hello.
I bought a tube of the Ascorbic Acid. I mixed it with water and the 1/4 teaspoon of the powder per instructions. How long will it last in the jar. The directions say to use cotton wool, however, I can't seem to find any so I use Q-tips or a cotton ball.

I'd like to put the powder in a simple store bought cream. Is Oil of Olay face cream a decent cream to put the acid in?  Or can any cheap cream be used, as I understand many creams already have actives in it and would compromise the acid I have?

I have hyperpigmentation issues and I'd like to lighten the dark areas to match the rest of my face.

Thank you in advance for answering.

It will be OK for a few days. For use in a cream, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is a better choice because it is more stable.

If you hyperpigmentation is from melasma, our skin brightening cream will be more effective. If it is from sun damage, be kind rewind will be more effective.

Okay. The water mixture in the jar will be okay for a few days.

No word about an inexpensive cream that I could just pick up right away at Walgreens or CVS?

If the skin brightening cream already has actives in it, then what use would I have for the acid I already bought?

The acid, especially used as crystals and massaged on damp skin will help with skin renewal, accelerating the effects of the skin brightening cream.

I am not familiar with generic creams so I can't advice you on them.

Hmmmm...well, the acid I ordered definitely looks like crystals.

I'll use it without putting it in the water then. That's exactly how the Dermalogica Extreme C was used: rubbed in on damp skin.  So I won't worry about putting it in water in a glass jar.

I have a container of Pond's moisturizing cream that I'll put some of the acid in too.

For now, I use the Patricia Wexler Skin Brightening Cream but I don't think the concentration is strong. I bought that jar over a month ago.

I tell ya what though...I won't bother buying all of that stuff anymore when I can just order it for far cheaper on here!!
