And even consistency is not a must.

RetinA is very drying, how is your skin responding? Remember ELS serum!

My skin seems to be fine, but I have been using Retin A for years.

One last thing, is there any difference between your eye serum and your collagen serum? Meaning would I get the same benefits if I use the collagen serum around my eyes?

Yes, just go ahead and use collagen serum all over your face. I think you will find out that the collagen serum "potentiates" the Retin-A.

Hi Hannah

If I put my collagen serum into a dark amber glass bottle with a dropper would I need to keep the dark bottle out if sunlight or will it matter?

Thank you.

Not really.

In theory, a few actives may do better in the dark, but I can't think of any.

Vitamin A is degraded under UV light but this may be more relevant once it is applied to the skin. Even this is a theoretical problem rather than something to worry much about.

Hi Hannah

Is your collagen serum good for post medical treatments? Such as peels, laser resurfacing, microneedling, etc? I know there are products that dermatologists recommend after treatments to improve healing with growth factors and I am wondering if your collagen serum would be beneficial? Or would it be better used when my skin is healed.

First of all, I am not a medical doctor. You will have to showe the ingredient list to your MD and make sure that he/she thinks it is a good idea.

Second, I am against any procedure that promotes skin tautness by producing inflammation. Inflammation results in the breakdown of proteins and hyaluronic acid, and it is always a bad idea.

Personally, I have used Restoration cream after peels, but you will still have to talk to your MD.

I am against microneedling. Everything I saw in the literature suggests that it works by producing inflammation so after the inflammation subsides your skin will be worse than before the treatment.

As for laser resurfacing, please make sure it is done by an experienced MD. High energy usually destroys, and destroying power in the hands of an inexperienced person is how people end up in Judge Judy. The episode I most remember is that of a "makeup tattoo" gone badly.  Judge Jusy asked "what did you expect?".
