In short: there are just a few crops that are available as GMOs, and we at Skin Actives don't use them, mostly because they have no advantages. It is true that it would be nice to have a plant that produces, say, more resveratrol, but that option does not exist. For example, the concentration of an active in a plant is determined by growth conditions, age of the plant, organ in question, etc.

We do use genetically modified bacteria to make special proteins, but bacteria er grown in culture and are easily contained (and destroyed). When people argue about GMO they argue about plant crops, and that is what I discuss in the blog article.
