I. Product of the month:

Our pumpkin peel bioferment leaves the skin cleansed and silky smooth.

Pumpkin proteases and nutrients are released from fresh pumpkin cells by the action of the same organism that transforms milk into yoghurt.

How to use: First test the bioferment on the inside of your arm. If the straight peel is too strong for your skin, dilute with Skin Actives sea kelp bioferment until you find a strength that is suitable for you. Next, avoiding eyes and lips, apply the pumpkin bioferment to clean, non-irritated skin and allow to remain on the face and neck for three to ten minutes, depending on skin sensitivity. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Use once or twice weekly in the absence of irritation. Complement this active with sea kelp bioferment and rosehip or black cumin seed oils to supply all nutrients required by the new skin cells.

. Your questions, our answers

Q: re. GABA is this simple to mix and will it give same results as those selling the freeze for $30.00?

A: It is very simple to add. Add and mix, that's it. There is another advantage to you, beside the price. We are sending you lots of GABA, and adding it in high concentration to the cream seems to make a real difference. A colleague of mine was not impressed at all with Free 24/7, but loved it when I made her a cream with lots of GABA, niacinamide and Matrixyl. I would go further and add a bit of idebenone (very stimulating) to the cream.

Q: I also had a question about the pumpkin peel - if I were to add it to a cleanser,  a liquid castille, maybe, would it have any effect, or just be useless due to not leaving it on the skin for very long?

A: What you mention is the main reason for not using expensive ingredients in soaps or shampoos. On the other hand, some of our ingredients are not expensive, and I suggest our clients to use many of them in soaps (EGCG, grape seed proanthocyanidins, etc). No reason not to try and see what happens. Even if there is no much peel effect, there are lots of valuable nutrients in the bioferment and it will be nice to have them in the soap.

Q: Will Skin Actives carry Matrixyl 3000 in the near future?

A: Matrixyl 3000 is a mixture of two short peptides that have the same effect that the longer peptide in the original Matrixyl. In my opinion, it was probably designed as a less expensive substitute (short synthetic peptides are less expensive to make than longer peptides, every amino acid added costs a lot of money). Since the effects are VERY similar, there is no point having both in stock, and Matrixyl has a longer history behind it.

A: Not really. If you want more potency, "mix" antioxidants, e.g. by using also some lipophilic antioxidants and ascorbic acid. There are many different types of oxidants, the answer to many different types of free radicals, so you will be better off by using more than just one type of antioxidant. We offer many options.

Q: hyaluronic acid. are you going to put some more on sale?

A: Hyaluronic acid is so good that we decided to incorporate it into a base cream to use with our actives that we will start selling in a couple of weeks. Can you wait?
