Hi Hannah,

Please advise if this product has any validity.  Seems doubtful, but I'm not an expert.  Claims to naturally prevent hair loss and grow hair by inhibiting DHC. Supposedly, hyaluronic acid is the magic ingredient.  I know that hyaluronic acid is a great active, but could it work to prevent hair loss?   The ingredient list is as follows:

Hyaluron (as BioCell Collagen II)  ??
Hydrolized glycosaminoglycans (Thioglycoran)
Methylparaben
Panthenol
Propylparaben
Propylene Glycol
SD Alchol 40
Sodium Hydroxide
Sorbic Acid
Thurfylnicotinate HCL
Water

Thank you for your help!

Hyaluronic acid can't help with hair loss.  Neither will glycosaminoglycans. Trafuril (Thurfylnicotinate HCL) is a medicine used for rheumatoid arthritis which can lead to atopic dermatitis..

In short, I have no idea how they can sell this for hair loss. The whole thing is very strange.

That's pretty much what I thought you might say.   Thank you so much!

FWIW, I have been using a couple of supplements that have worked in re-growing my hair.  The first is Hair Blend SP-38 by Solaray, and the other is an extract called Lustrous Hair made by Sun Harvest.  I believe the Sun Harvest brand is only available in Sprouts (formerly Henry's), but the Solaray brand is widely available.  The ingredients in each are different, and since I began using both simultaneously (and afraid to stop either one), I can't say for sure if one is more effective than the other.  I started to notice hair growth within a few months and a lot of growth after 6 months.  I also added Biotin to my regimen, and I think that helped as well.

I also just ordered the Hair Serum from this site, and am anxious to see if that encourages even more hair growth.  I have somewhat long hair, so getting it ti be really full again will take a while.  (Men have it easier with their short hair!).

I don't think any food supplement will do anything for your hair, except maybe through placebo effect.

If you are losing hair, the first thing is to start using a mild shampoo and try to avoid stress, a major factor for hair loss. If this is not enough, then go to a good MD, because some medical conditions, including hormonal changes, can lead to hair loss.

Our hair serum will help for sure, but how much will depend on why you are losing hair.

Hannah - could you tell me if any of the following ingredients would encourage hair growth/inhibit hair loss:   Saw Palmetto Berry Extract, Beta Sitoterol, Pygeum Bark Extract, Stinging Nettles Extract, Alpha Linolenic Acid, Gamma linolenic Acid, Linseed Extract, Borage Oil, Green Tea Extract, Pumpkin Seed Extract, Evening Primrose Extract.

They are touted as being DHT inhibitors.   This brand is Hair Loss Control Center.  Their philosophy is that DHT is the leading cause of hair loss. ??

Your thoughts -PLEASE!

Thank you!

Not taken orally. If you have hormonal problems, the simplest (and safest) way is to get an MD to request blood tests for enzymatic activities that are relevant to testosterone.

When applied topically you have a better chance of saw palmetto etc. having an effect, this is why they are present in our serum.

Yes  - this formula is a topical solution.   Other than Saw Palmetto, do any of the other ingredients have hair benefits?   I'm not planning on buying it.  I use your SAS formula - but I'm having a discussion with a friend over this.   I'm saying that their products is 'garbage' (??) - but I wanted to make sure

Check their list against our list. I am too busy to do that right now,  but as far as I know we already have every "proven" active for hair growth in our formulation.

I am working full speed on two other projects right now but if you remind me of this I will look again at all the "possibles" and if something is backed up by scientific research I will add it to our serum.
