Hello everyone.  I am 39 years old.  My hair has been thinning for a few years and i didn't know what to use, so unfortunately it has dropped so much that you can now see my scalp, especially in the front.  I have started using prescribed vitamins, and over a year ago it has stopped dropping.  My problem now still remains, the thinning look, and that my scalp can be seen.  I want to know if i can use the KGF serum for this?  I have been using Nioxin products for hair thickening.  I am using their shampoo & conditioner and scalp treatment.  I have not noticed much difference.  I hope maybe KGF can work for me??

Have you seen an MD? Are you sure that you have no medical (hormonal problems in particular) problems?

Nioxin has several products but I did not see much in terms of useful ingredients. Maybe it helps because it does not use strong detergents, but that could be done with any shampoo lacking sodium lauryl sulfate. It is more a "placebo effect"product.

For example:

8 Scalp treatment
Active Ingredients: Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid  (sunscreen) 4%, Sulisobenzone (sunscreen) 1.6%. Inactive Ingredients: Aqua/Eau/Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Peg12 Dimethicone, Silk Amino Acids, Isopropyl C1215 pareth9 Carboxylate, Amodimethicone, Cetrimonium C

I understand the idea of preventing sun damage, but there is no real nutrition in this product.

My doctor told me I was lacking vitamins.  He prescribed vitamins for me.  I am taking Strovite once per day. The dropping of the hair has stopped.

Would you recommend I try the KGF to try to re-grow that area?

Not the KGF by itself but the hair serum with KGF.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or tips on the texture/usage of the hair serum from SAS. I used it for a little while, but the crusting/flaking that occurred because of the serum drying up on my scalp was enough to stop me from using it. Am I using it too much?

I am a male, with short/buzzed hair, so the product can build up pretty quickly. I don't enjoy the stiff feeling I get from the serum drying up and I obviously don't have long, flowing locks to brush it through. Maybe that's just the nature of the beast, or I'm using way too much. When I used it, I tried to get the tip as close to my scalp as possible, but dispersing it through the rest of my hair was inevitable.

Thanks!

I can see how it can be a problem.

I think it is like everything else: how badly do you want your hair to grow/re-grow. For me, almost everything is too much work (I never wore make-up in my life!).

Hannah, would dermagen/ Natural Active Peptides provide any extra nutrition to the scalp/hair if added to the hair serum?

Re flaking, if you use it while your scalp is wet/moist (after a shower), flakin is minimal.
