I got busy this morning.

I had a half tube of the Lip Collagen. So I emptied that out in a bowl, and mixed that with some Liquid Crystals I had until slightly thick. To that I sacrificed a half tube of my favorite lipstick. Then I added three squirts of Antioxidant Booster.

Then I put in a healthy dose of African Bird Pepper (cayenne), and kept testing the mixture until I could feel the burn.

I used the pipettes to put the mixture back into my collagen tube.

My lips are slightly burning right now, but noticeably fuller. The color became slightly more orange because of the Booster and Pepper, but it's a very soft orange. My original lipstick was a bit more rosy.

Wow, this stuff is cool.

The short term effect is because of the pepper, but my hope is that the actives in the collagen serum and liquid crystal will also bring fullness to the lips in a long-term manner.

A perfect product. Immediate gratification while being good for you. Short term and long term effects.

Cayenne is supposed to bring blood to the area it is applied to. I've used cayenne creams for various muscle ailments for many years with good effect.

Well Hannah, had you not developed this DIY site I would have never thought of doing this. Thank you!!

Peppermint essential oil also works, as does cinnamon oil. Pretty much anything that "irritates" and is food and/or cosmetics safe can be used to temporarily plump lips. Love your idea of mixing w/ lip collagen serum and liquid crystal.

Speaking as a long term user of the Lip Collagen serum, I can attest that it really, really works, long term. Really. I have thin lips, and have used various plumpers containing pepper, peppermint, ect....they were definitely fun, and did provide some instant gratification....but, trust me...stick with that Lip Collagen Serum. For the first time in my life, I no longer hate my lips!

Wow Susan, thats great! I also have lips that are on the thinner side so I wonder: do you happen to have before and after pictures? Thanks in advance.

@Molly: You got really creative! So it's a lipgloss now? It sounds awesome but too much hassle for me (I'm lazy)

Rebecca,Lip Collagen Serum is a ready made product. You can purchase it for $9.50;you can find it on the quick purchase product list. You could just add a bit of cayenne pepper to the LCS and you'd have a plumping serum with long and short term benefits.I might try that myself!!

I agree! I tried almost every plumping product on the market, as well as anti aging creams on my lips. But they do not seem to do more than very brief moisturizing. Now I often use liquid rainbow along with the regular collagen serum. I seem to have less lip lines now and at least liquid rainbow seems to sink properly in my lip lines instead just sitting in top of them. Something I've never had before. I am REALLY happy with that because even though I'm 23, my lips often look like they belong to an elderly lady. I've been looking for a solution for this "problem" since I was fourteen and I guess liquid rainbow is the closest thing. When I run out of liquid rainbow I'm going to buy the lip trio. Keep making awesome stuff!!
