I have been studying Victorian beauty recipes and was SHOCKED at the amazing results from an all natural product....
My hair reaches past my waist and is dry and difficult....I read that BORAX (yes, the gentle, all purpose powder found in the laundry section of your supermarket) makes a great shampoo.

You must really wet your hair & the BORAX powder, and of course, true to my SAS friends I added some Sea Kelp Bioferment....WOW.....my hair is soft & silky like a baby's!!!!! Keep it out of your eyes, but I consider this mix of Sea kelp & Borax an absolute, world class shampoo!!

I have extremely sensitive skin - does the Borax irritate the skin at all?

Borax has some toxicity associated with it, apparently. Be careful.

I found this on ask.com , written by a chemist:

"Risks Associated with Borax

Borax is natural, but that does not mean it is automatically safer for you or for 'the environment' than man-made chemicals. Although plants need boron, too much of it will kill them, so borax can be used as an herbicide. Borax may also be used to kill roaches, ants, and fleas. In fact, it is also toxic to people. Signs of chronic toxic exposure include red and peeling skin, seizures, and kidney failure. The estimated lethal dose (ingested) for adults is 15-20 grams; less than 5 grams can kill a child or pet. For this reason, borax should not be used around food. More commonly, borax is associated with skin, eye, or respiratory irritation. It is also important to point out that exposure to borax may impair fertility or cause damage to an unborn child."

I have had no problems with irritation...seems to me it is more gentle than most shampoos I've used. As with anything, including shampoo, soap etc., keep it out of the eyes.
