For those with rosacea there is a wonderful support group you may want to visit. I'm sure they would love suggestions from anyone who has had success making their own topicals.

Hi everyone: I have been posting for a while, but have not really introduced myself. I have had very difficult rosacea for over 10 years and I am only 32 years old. I have a lot of triggers, so it is very limiting around food, activities, emotions, etc. It can also be painful, irritated, and it burns when it flares up. I recently had a series of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments that improved my symptoms greatly, thank goodness. Then I found SAS and have improved even further. I began having even less triggers, my skin was even more resilient. You cannot tell I have rosacea now by looking at my skin - without ANY makeup. Making custom topicals for my skin with SAS has been extremely helpful. I think the ability to customize is the key. I use IPL to get rid of the existing damaged vessels. I will ideally use SAS to improve the overall health of my compromised skin and vessels, make it more resilient, curb the over-proliferation of over-reactive vessels, and curb inflammation, which prevents further damage and progression of the rosacea.

And, I have barely just begun! So far I use Sea Kelp, HA mixed with water, Emu Oil (daily), Licorice a few times a week, and have now been trying EGF for a few days. So far so good

Have a wonderful day!

Hello Artist.

Just curious, do you mix your Sea Kelp, HA, water, and Emu Oil together in one mixture?  Do you have an approximation of how much of each you use?

I'm new to SA and am 'eagle eyeing' simple mixtures that would help my rosacea skin.  This sounds like a good simple mixture.

I was making a mix of HA/Water/Emu Oil/Sea Kelp but I found that it solidified in the fridge, making it hard to use a dropper bottle. I use the dropper bottle in the fridge so I do not touch the mixture, thus preventing bacteria buildup. So, I just apply my oil first, then my mixture - HA/Water/Sea Kelp/EGF, for example. So, in a 2 ounce dropper bottle I fill it 2/3 with distilled water, add maybe 1/4 teaspoon HA, shake, then maybe 1/4 teaspoon Sea Kelp, Shake, then half a vial of EGF and invert several times to mix - don't shake. This is a water soluble mixture, so I think Dermagen would be ok in it (according to what I see in the directions). So, Emily since you are not using sea kelp you might try (in a dropper bottle in the fridge) distilled water with enough HA to make it a serum consistency, then add your dermagen and EGF. You might then apply it just before or after you apply your oil.

Sometimes I just mix the active into my Noritate. I've done this with Licorice and EGF and it works well. It has preservatives and saves the hassle of using a dropper bottle. I think Dermagen would probably be fine in your metro topical if you use one.

I hope that helps! -Artist
