Is it possible to see an increase in hair shedding by using the KGF hair serum kit?  I

if you search for this topic, you should find something.  I do believe some previous posters have reported increase in shedding initially (maybe the new hair pushes the old hair out ??)  Don't take my word for it though , do a search.

ELS and KGF don't mix (water and oil).

If you are getting nervous, please stop using the product.  Also, you must quote the old post that you think talks about shedding. Please remember that you are telling our clients that KGF causes hair loss, which contradicts the research published in scientific journals. I do accept anecdotal evidence, but only when there is no research published.

I usually edit postings that are confusing but I will leave yours for a few more days.

My recollection is that somebody using EGF was seeing some shedding. This would be possible because EGF accelerates stages of the hair cycle.

Hannah - the post was by Mark: "Has anyone noticed any hair shedding when starting to use the KGF serum?

I have been using it for about a month (as well as minoxidil which I have been using for some time). I am sure my hairline is becoming thinner, especially at the sides and I am sure I have noticed more hairs in the bath.

It might all be due to something else or a side effect of starting the use the serum. I just wondered if anyone else has come across this.

Mark"

He was also using minoxidil so i don't know if the shed could be attributed to that.

In theory, would KGF push out hairs that were "sick" so better ones could grow?

Would using minoxidil together KGF kit result in hair shedding?
Must I use them separately?

I can't see why it would work that way. Nothing in the hair serum could lead to shedding hair, and nothing in minoxidil could either. The only problem is the alcohol in minoxidil, which would denature proteins like KGF.

Hi everyone!

I have just ordered my first bottle of KGF in hopes of regrowing some lost hair, so I can't comment directly on KGF and shedding. The serum seems to have some ingredients (saw palmetto) that work against DHT intended to work topically.

I just wanted to chime in because I saw several posts on shedding in the forum. I am not a medical professional, just an educated consumer and have some experience with shedding with Propecia. Every person's reaction to drugs, serums, vitamins are unique though, and shedding could be caused by something different than my experience stated below. If you are concerned, you should always see a doctor.

I began losing my hair about six years ago (when I was 27) to male pattern baldness, which is caused by DHT. I began taking Propecia, which blocks DHT production (to some extent), I began shedding after a week or two of taking and, of course, subsequently: PANICKED.

I spoke to my doctor (who prescribed it) and told me this was a common occurrence. I verified this also on several hair-loss websites/blogs. It was explained to me that DHT effectively builds up around the hair follicle, causing it to constrict over time and then thin the hair shaft that it produces also. It constricts, over time, until the hair is so thin, that the follicle eventually doesn't produce anything. When a DHT blocker is presented to the system, the DHT around the hair follicle eventually is allowed to becomes metabolized (goes away), without being replaced because new DHT is blocked, and the hair follicle widens again, causing the current hair shaft to be released, then the result is a newer, thicker, hair shaft being produced in its place.

I suggest this because the reaction could be similar with the ingredients of the KGF serum, and the shedding is perhaps a precursor to more hair growth.

I am not a medical professional, just a guy who has tried everything on his head. I can verify this, though, because after my experience of "shedding" after initially starting on Propecia, hair regrew thicker than before and my hair loss has almost completely if not completely stopped.

My intent with KGF is mainly experimental. I have been using Minoxidil, and it has irritated my scalp, with no noticeable regrowth. I believe I have stopped my hair loss with Propecia, and I looking to regrow/thicken what I have. So I thought I would try something different with KGF, and I will keep everyone posted.

Shedding is common when beginning hair loss treatments.

From what I've read, the hair follicle is expelling the weak hair, and a thicker hair will usually take its place.

Hi all,

I have been using the KGF on and off for almost one year. At one point I thought that I was losing more hair than usual and I stopped but after one week I thought what the heck. These last two months I've noticed that my hair has grown twice as fast. I know that because I color my hair. Plus I am not losing as much hair as before. Believe me I know because I always grab my hair every morning just to see how much came loose during the night. So my conclusion is it's very individual as to how you react to the KGF but on the whole the outcome will be positive that is assuming there are no other factors involved here. I can't speak for those who've had a history of hair and scalp problems but for me I shall continue using the serum. :-)  Great stuff. :-)
