There are anecdotal reports that amla and sea buckhorn oil have helped people with melasma.  What do you think Hannah?  Do you think they could be good additions to the skin brightening cream?

I could find no scientific references to such activity at all. The way this rumor could have appeared is that both amla extract and seabuckthorn oil have antioxidant activity and could help prevent UV damage. But melasma is more complicated that a bad tan. It has strong hormonal components.
